Founded in the early sixties, Freud has six manufacturing facilities in Europe, all of which are ISO9002 quality certified, and operations in the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, Russia, USA, Canada and China.
Freud employs over 1,000 people worldwide and has a catalogue of over 36,000 products including saw blades, router bits, shaper cutters and power tools.
Precision worth exporting
From our small town beginnings, Freud strived to make a name in the woodworking market. Starting with braze-welded cutters, we soon specialized in circular saw blades and then added portable cutterheads, tips and other types of tools for the production of doors and windows - turning great ideas into original solutions.
Every great success is based on a solid foundation
Freud was born out of the chair-making industry. This was during the 1960s, the years of the economic boom. There were great
opportunities but they would not last forever. Prioritizing and focusing on market needs resulted in the decision to pursue specialized production - circular saw blades and other tools to satisfy the needs of our customers. Freud invests in specialized equipment to manufacture tools that meet specific needs and designs. This is an investment which pays off, as flexibility is not just a word but a way of working. It results in the creation of new designs which have universal uses. There are currently four production facilities over an area of 11 acres, a catalog with more than 36,000 products, and over 1,000 employees. With the desire to further improve, we focus on maintaining a high standard of design, providing customers with the opportunity to work with efficient and carefully designed products, all while maintaining focus on the safety of the operators. These principles have resulted in numerous significant designs, many patented by Freud.

To offer customers an ideal solution to their tooling needs and to serve them at a competitive price is a challenge. We met this
challenge by managing the production process in a fully integrated manner, constantly collecting research from external sources and continuously exchanging in-house information to increase the knowledge available for the design of new tools and for delivering turnkey solutions.
